GlobalTowne is pleased to announce we are now carrying the new Marey outdoor gas tankless water heaters.  Marey now offers 3 different BTU sizes of 150K BTU, 180K BTU and 199K BTU.  The Marey outdoor tankless water heaters come set for use with Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid Propane (LP). 

The Marey outdoor gas tankless water heaters are great for saving space.  The outdoor tankless water heaters are approved for up to 2,000 ft elevation.  For any installation above 2,000 ft please contact a qualified gas technician to make the proper altitude adjustments per page 27 of the installation manual.  The Marey outdoor tankless come with a power cord for the fan and electronic ignition.  The outdoor tankless also comes with 1 wired remote thermostat.  Up to 3 wired remote thermostats can be used with one heater.  Please see some of the specifications below for the Marey outdoor gas tankless water heaters.

Marey Gas Tankless Approved for Installation in Canada

The Marey gas tankless water heaters are approved for installation in the US but only some of them are approved for installation in Canada.  Marey gas tankless water heaters being installed in Canada have to meet certain regulations and need to be CSA approved.  The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) have special requirements that differ from the US.  All Marey gas tankless water heaters approved for Canada will have a special stamp on them stating they are CSA approved.

Below is a list of the Marey gas tankless water heaters that "are" approved for installation in Canada.  the Marey Power Gas 5L, 10L and 16L naturally drafting units that do not require power to operate "are not" approved for installation in Canada.

Marey Replacement for Bosch 80VP, Bosch 38B and Bosch 330PN

The Marey Power Gas GA10 or GA10DP 10L tankless water heater is the closest possible replacement for Bosch's popular line of 80VP, 38B or the 330PN tankless water heaters.  These units come in either Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid Propane (LP).  The only difference of the Marey GA10 and the GA10DP is that the GA10DP has a small digital panel on the front that shows the temperature when the heater is in use.

Like these Bosch tankless water heaters, the Marey GA10 or GA10DP tankless water heater has no electric requirement and uses 4" double-walled galvanized B-Vent for its exhaust venting. The Marey GA10 or GA10DP is perfect for off-grid applications.

While the Bosch 80VP, 38B and 330PN tankless water heaters all had a standing pilot light, the Marey 10L 2.6 GPM unit uses two D-Cell batteries for its ignition source.

At 79,000 BTUs, the Marey GA10 or GA10DP is very close to the 78,000 BTU maximum input of the Bosch 80VP, 38B and 330PN water heaters.

If you are looking to replace your existing Bosch 80VP, 38B or 330PN tankless water heater and your current unit is vented vertically through the roof then the Marey GA10 or GA10DP will be a simple and straightforward replacement.

The Marey Power Gas GA10 or GA10DP must be vented vertically with 4" galvanized B vent and there is no sidewall power vent for these units.

The Marey GA10 or GA10DP will work with lower water pressures than the Bosch tankless water heaters; the Marey GA10 or GA10DP will run on a minimum of 10 PSI water pressure.

The Marey GA10 and GA10DP 10L tankless water heaters are approved for installation throughout the US (including California) and Canada.

Ignition System of the Marey Power Gas GA5L/GA10L/GA16L

The Marey Power Gas tankless water heaters use a battery ignition system to activate their Power Gas models.  There are 3 different sizes of the Marey Power Gas units and they are the GA5L unit, GA10L unit and the GA16L unit.  The Marey Power Gas units run off 2 - D Cell batteries.  The Power Gas units are activated through water flow which sends a signal to the batteries and then to the micro switch and activates the burners.  The Marey Power Gas units require no electrical power to operate.  The battery box is located on the bottom right hand side of the unit and is easily accessible.

Marey Return Policy

In the event that you need to return your product, you must present your purchase receipt and contact our Customer Service Department for instructions at customerservice@marey.com or by calling direct at 855-627-3955. After contacting Marey and getting approval to have your unit sent in for repair, whether you are under warranty or not. If your unit is under warranty we will repair it under Marey’s warranty policy. If your unit is not under warranty, we will repair it with appropriated charges for repair labor and spare parts. If you purchased your unit in any other place other than Marey website, please check with the distributor you purchased from in order to see their particular return policy for instructions.

Marey Power Gas GA5L/10L/16L Tankless Water Heaters at Elevation

The Marey Power Gas naturally drafting gas tankless water heaters model GA5L/GA10L/GA16L are good for up to 6,000 ft elevation.  There are many people running the units at even higher elevations and the units will still operate well.  The air and gas mix at higher elevations will cause sooting in the heater exchanger and flue exhaust so this wants to be checked periodically.  You have to be aware that you will also loose 4% of your heat rise for every 1,000 ft above sea level...  this is applicable to all gas appliances.

Venting Change for Marey Power Gas Models GA5L/10L/16L

GlobalTowne is an authorized distributor of the Marey gas and electric tankless water heaters.  Marey has recently updated their manual for the power gas GA5L/10L and 16L units.  The installation manual has been revised to show that the 5L/10L and 16L power gas units must be vented vertically up through the roof.  The minimum vertical vent height shall be no less than 6'. Sidewall venting on a naturally drafting unit is not permissible and is against the National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC).  Below is a diagram that shows the vertical venting and also the venting specifications for each unit.
